Abstract
This creative research artefact is a filmed poetic work by Dr Madison Shakespeare, a Gadigal Saltwater woman artist, created in collaboration with Gadigal videographer Mr Luke Shakespeare in a culturally consistent and appropriate manner. The film captures the landscapes, features, and intensities of Country, interweaving poetry and imagery to convey their relational, sovereign ontologies that shape their specific understandings of Custodianship and connection. As a non-traditional research output, it demonstrates how creative practice can generate knowledge and insight beyond conventional academic formats. By foregrounding Indigenous epistemologies and intergenerational perspectives, the work offers audiences an immersive engagement with Country, amplifying First Nations ways of knowing while challenging Western knowledge frameworks.
