Research output: Book/Research ReportResearch report

Abstract

The Office of Sport recently held a summit where they discussed the value and opportunities through investment in women’s sport. The report concludes that the Office of Sport would commit to support the following opportunities : Improved gender equity at all levels, commitment to equitable allocation of resources and facilities, realise the commercial potential of value-based partnerships and growing a female fan base, connecting with communities through the power of female athletes and storytelling. However, this summit highlighted that within Australia there are questions around how the domestic leagues of women’s sport competitions can become a more sustainable commercial success.
