Abstract

Many clinical trials of acupuncture do not capture the complexity of how traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is practised in the community. We aimed to use the knowledge of experienced clinical practitioners to develop a clinical trial protocol for treating period pain that reflects a balance between research and practice.
