Abstract

![CDATA[Few would dispute that Hawkesbury Agricultural College is a wonderful example of how history and tradition can blend with progress. I felt a particular responsibility as a Johnny-Come-Lately to the School of Agriculture (and perhaps because I am a Pom!) to assure that this blend of past with progress remains a happy mixture. Progress we must. There are too many examples of Agricultural Colleges and Faculties (and not only in this country) which have failed to adjust to the changing circumstances and have gone under.]]
