Abstract
Medical education in Australia, and indeed the world, is passing through a major transition. There are changes in the way medical schools select their students, the broad philosophy and structure of courses, and the methods of teaching and stimulating learning. Australian medical schools are educating local and international medical students for a globally mobile workplace. The challenge facing educators is to design curricula that address local and global needs.
