Abstract

This special edition, edited by Alison Downham Moore (historian) and Sarah Lamb (anthropologist), is focused on gendered and sexual aging in both the historical past and in present global contexts. It contains 8 chapters on topics ranging from medieval life-cycle ideas, literary works about aging, medical ideas about how neurodiverse people age, images of older people in Turkish TV series, older wise-women healers in early-twentieth-century Yugoslavia, HIV-positive older adults in Hong Kong today, and views about sex among non-monogamous older gay men in the US today.
