Abstract
![CDATA[This paper is a comparative study that investigates negotation behaviour in light of global decentralisation of collective bargaining among tertiary institutions in Australia and the US and determines if there is convergence on a micro level, which could also lead to further similarities in industrial reform. In doing so, this study examines the definitions on globalisation, industrialism and convergence as well as compares ten negotiation styles used by both management and union across three tertiary level institutions in each country. It concludes that the labour-management relationship has improved as a result of more integrative bargaining behaviour; however, convergence at the micro level is not evident.]]
