    Abstract

This paper argues that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health within a public health and community medicine framework focused on well-being provides an ideal platform for realising energies and synergies in practical application. All need to go hand in hand with broader, strengths-based promotion approaches at group and population level, growing in voice and action, in order to face the very complex and difficult issues we face. No area of public health is more important than advancing the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the lifespan.
