Abstract
After reading this chapter, readers will be able to: describe what needs assessment is -- provide a rationale for conducting needs assessment -- describe the process of needs assessment -- describe methods for needs assessment including both quantitative and qualitative methods -- identify characteristics of the population for needs assessment, particularly disadvantaged and vulnerable groups as the target population -- prioritise identified health needs of population.
