Abstract
Participation in physical activity is an important determinant of healthy ageing. The New Zealand Green Prescription is an efficacious and cost-effective primary care program to improve activity levels through physical activity prescription and follow-up telephone counselling. The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of a pedometer-based Green Prescription compared with the standard (time-based) Green Prescription on physical activity, weight, blood pressure, and health-related quality of life in low-active older adults.
