    Abstract

![CDATA[In this paper I focus on reflexivity – what it is, its use in cultural and social research practice, its application in creative writing, and the ways in which it contributes to the mutual embodiment of writer and reader. In general, reflexivity challenges traditional positivist approaches that social and cultural research can be considered ‘objective’. It asks the researcher to be aware of their own role in the research in order to ensure it can be understood both in terms of what is revealed and how it is revealed.]]
