Abstract
At the University of Western Sydney, research was conducted into developing a 'whole-of-waste' approach in dealing with domestic solid organic waste and wastewater using biological treatment, including vermicomposting. This paper discusses the project and results from preliminary tests conducted on a prototype treatment system. Further research will be conducted into the optimisation of the technology and towards a working installation for households and small communities in developing countries.
