Abstract

A study was initiated to determine if previous contact lens wear influences the comfort and type of symptoms experienced in high Dk soft contact lens (SCL) extended wear (EW). Subjects with previous high or low Dk EW experience showed better comfort than neophytes in high Dk EW. When the subjects have decreased comfort, they complained of lens awareness. In comparison, neophytes to EW reported dryness in association with decreased comfort.
