    Abstract

Human rights dialogues have become all the rage in the foreign relations between developing and developed countries in the eC21. Whereas human rights diplomacy used to focus on the exposure and condemnation of human rights violations , both sides have come to realize that there are benefits in defusing the antagonisms that were inevitable in debates over human rights. This is resulting in rights fast becoming divested of any content, particularly in a climate in which the right to bear arms , the rights of the unborn , and the right to in vitro fertilization are put by many on an equal footing with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
