Abstract
![CDATA[The study investigated the effect of outsourcing activities of Citibank N.A operating in Bangladesh. Some of these include office clerical jobs, documentation & filing, clearing, scanning and regulatory reporting, etc. They engage vendors who send employees in Citi premises to get these jobs done. Temporary outsourced employees are paid almost one fourth the salary paid to permanent staff. They are not entitled to any benefits and cannot claim themselves to be Citi employees. The study revealed that cost effectiveness is weakly related with supervision, control over workforce and temporary workforce while negatively related with non-core activities and segregation of workforce. The research also represented that productivity is weakly related with supervision, temporary workforce, control over workforce, and negatively related with outsourcing of non-core activities, and the segregation of workforce. The analysis pointed out gaps and non compliance with the policy and found disadvantages that outweighs the advantages as such fine tuning is required so that the process and system are in tuned and customized to suit the local market structure.]]
