Abstract
Green Buildings are the expression of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implementation, incorporating sustainable strategies such as efficient energy, water, materials, waste and health and wellbeing. This paper explores digital data story-telling and project-based learning as tools to be used in Education for Sustainability. A video was created in collaboration with industry partners to showcase sustainable strategies implemented in a Green Star and WELL-rated educational building. The video offers students a holistic perspective on how sustainable strategies could be implemented collaboratively in real-world projects and identifies the main challenges that the key stakeholders face during the decision-making process to achieve sustainable development goals. This video is a learning and teaching resource for undergraduate and postgraduate students leading to two different assessment levels: understanding the basic concepts in the case of undergraduates and in-depth analysis of a green rating process for postgraduates. Results have shown that most of the students who participated in this study responded well to the learning approaches implemented in this case study. Finally, the success rates were more evident in mature students, when compared to younger students.
