Abstract
![CDATA[Events and meetings are important components of the tourism industry and it is necessary that they be managed in such a way as to be sustainable and to contribute to the sustainability of the communities in which they are held. Therefore, the delivery of a sustainable events and meetings sector will require a well-trained workforce. Although there are a number of good texts available for educational purposes none of them incorporate sustainability into all aspects of event and meeting management. This gap is being addressed by Business Enterprise for Sustainable Travel (renamed to BEST Education Network) an organisation that focuses on the development of sustainable tourism curriculum targeted at undergraduates, and to be distributed to universities engaged in the education of Tourism and Hospitality professionals. In July 2003, BEST hosted Think Tank III in order to develop curricula content, using the Nominal Group Technique (NGT), to incorporate sustainability into a short teaching module on Events and Meeting Management. The aim of this paper is to describe the process used and report on the outcomes arising from Think Tank III.]]
