Abstract

Eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa (AN), bulimia nervosa (BN), binge-eating disorder (BED), and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) are complex psychiatric conditions characterized by severe disturbances in eating behaviors and associated psychological distress. These disorders often co-occur with medical complications, psychiatric comorbidities, and functional impairments, leading to an impact on quality of life and increased mortality rates. Despite their high prevalence and substantial burden, treatment outcomes for eating disorders remain suboptimal.
