Abstract

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex multisystem autoimmune disease comprising a spectrum of diverse clinical phenotypes. SLE is recognised to disproportionately impact people of non-Caucasian ethnicity, with prevalence up to 3 times higher in African or Asian populations compared with Caucasian populations.
