N2 - The purpose of this Special Issue is to contribute to the literature on operationalizing human rights in peace missions. It seeks to identify some ofthe different dimensions of human rights protection that are at play in peaceoperations. These include, but are not limited to, referencing human rightsin high-level policy documents, the role of human rights in the domestic political discourse of states in relation to their participation in peace missions,gender perspectives and questions of accountability of peace keeping troopsthemselves.
