Introduction to the ROSETE Partnership between Ningbo and Western Sydney

    Abstract

    In 2007, a Research-Oriented School-Engaged Teacher Education (ROSETE) Partnership was formed between the Western Sydney Region of the New South Wales Department of Education and Communities, the Ningbo Municipal Education Bureau and the University of Western Sydney. The aims of the ROSETE partnership are to promote the study of Chinese (Mandarin) and Chinese culture and society in NSW DEC schools; and to develop the Ningbo Hanyu volunteers to be bilingual-teacher-researchers.
