Abstract

Current distribution along and across the high-temperature superconducting (HTS) tape provides us with the sufficient information about the quality of the tape performance in different current feeding regimes. In this paper, the inverse problem solution algorithms aimed at calculation of 1-D and 2-D current density distributions from the magnetic field measured around the HTS tape are presented. A crucial point of our study is the fact that we use minimum possible data for the magnetic field and obtain the result with lowest error level. Calculations are done for several single HTS tapes with the cut edge damages to validate the ability of the method to reveal the position and shape of the damage. Additionally, the current density redistribution in stacked conductor is analyzed for different current feeding regimes.
