Abstract

This chapter looks at a number of issues relating to property investment, including direct investment in residential and commercial property, and indirect investment through property trusts and syndicates. The advantages and disadvantages of property investment are also briefly discussed. The chapter also looks at investing in tangibles, such as gold, art and other collectables, as a means of wealth creation. (Note: the use of gearing and margin lending to fund investments is addressed in Chapter 6.)
