Journalism education

This entry discusses three different forms of challenges that have existed within processes of journalism education: the first is the divide between theory and practice, and how journalism education can balance itself between both axes; the second is the divide in journalism education between the Global North and Global South, and how different ‘ways of doing’’ journalism exist and in turn should be taught, as opposed to the notion of a universal way of practicing and teaching journalism; and finally, the third is the divide that technology has imposed on journalism education between the old and the new, where journalism education continues to play catch up with how technology influences and now shapes the industry.
