Abstract
A figure of the critical theorization of race and racism, Alana Lentin returns in this article on the moral panic that has gripped Australia in recent years around these issues. This country, seen from afar as one of the cradles of multiculturalism, shows cultural wars just as virulent as in the French or American context. Indeed, right-wing parliamentarians have proposed to ban the Critical Race Theory teaching in school ... where it has never been taught. If these attempts at censorship, both academic and political, emanate from the right, the left is not immune. Behind these attacks, targeting a relatively minority theory, lies the will not to look at the country’s colonial past in the face.
