Abstract
In this chapter, I analyse the role of Hegel's Aesthetics in the contemporary debate on Hegel's metaphysics in the Anglophone world. In the first section, I address the distinction between the 'revisionist' or 'post-Kantian' interpretation of Hegel's metaphysics, pioneered by Robert Pippin and Terry Pinkard, and the 'neo-metaphysical' or 'conceptual realist' interpretation of Hegel's metaphysics, focussing on the potential implications of these two interpretative approaches on Hegel's aesthetics. In the second section, I focus my attention on Pippin's and Pinkard's interpretation, by assessing the similarities and the differences in their approached. Finally, in the conclusion, I argue for the fruitfulness of the post-Kantian interpretative approach, suggesting useful directions for further research in the field.
