Abstract
This painting invites the viewer to focus on two thin, intertwined blackened trees, which activate the foreground and draw attention to the rocky, fire-affected expanse of the midground. By raising the horizon line and lowering the point of view, the composition is designed to deepen the viewer’s understanding of the impact of bushfire and the vigorous regrowth emerging in the bushland beyond. The use of light and increasingly vibrant colour from foreground to midground enhances the illusion of depth with the aim of symbolising renewal, regeneration, and hope.
