Abstract

Part of The Painted River Project: Blue Mountains Rare Upland Swamps

This work began as three individual vertical compositions, each painted separately on site before being joined and subtly reworked to form a unified artwork. Each panel captures a different view from the exact same vantage point—one looking left, one looking right, and the central view looking straight ahead. The decision to combine the three perspectives was made to introduce a sense of movement and continuity, allowing for a deeper, more layered visual interpretation of the site. In doing so, the works aim is to invite the viewer to engage with a more immersive and multifaceted sense of place.
