Abstract
This work was developed in the studio using a combination of en plein air studies and photographic references. Its aim is to depict the contrasting elements of the landscape: the harsh impact of bushfire, the resilience of ecological recovery, and the rich diversity of terrain and habitat. By combining distinct yet interconnected views of the same location, the work not only represents a sense of place but also offers the viewer an entry point into the artist’s personal experience of observing and engaging with the environment. The sequencing of these views—from left to right—plays a crucial role in how the composition is read, with each perspective carefully chosen to contribute to the overall rhythm and meaning of the piece.
