    Abstract

To build capacity for change, international organisations need to ensure all of their operations, regardless of geographic and cultural locale, are healthy. Regardless of nationality, resistance and facilitation of organizational change are linked to psychodynamic processes of instinctual balancing while maintaining identity that predate and underscore organizational change theory and praxis. To transition current states to new states and effect positive transformation, the organization must give employees adequate resources to mourn losses appropriately and individually. Individuals more practised at mourning are less likely to use destructive behaviors to defend against organizational change and are more likely to have less fear of uncertainty.
