Life: Three Songs for Baritone and Piano

Research output: Creative WorksComposition

Abstract

The three songs of Life tell of contrasting aspects of everyday life – quiet reflection, the busyness of supermarket shopping, the possibility of dancing a tango in an outback hotel. The songs were originally written for solo bass voice and unaccompanied choir, a commission, in 2021, from Leyland Jones, bass singer and choral director. They have been arranged for different solo voices (soprano, tenor, baritone, bass and piano, plus a choral arrangement) and can be performed in any order.
