Abstract
The case studies of Registered Native Title Bodies Corporate (RNTBCs) in this book arose from the PBC Research and Resources Project.1 This was hosted by the Native Title Research Unit (NTRU) at AIATSIS from 2006 to 2009 to support the growing number of RNTBCs and to better understand the needs and aspirations of this growing sector. The project was funded by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), with additional sponsorship from the Minerals Council of Australia. Some aspects of the project were also carried out in partnership with the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations.
