Abstract

The engagement with various narrative tropes in media reportage drives this interrogation into contemporary mediascapes that have come to dominate the stories of both legacy and internet media. Undoubtedly our analysis of climate catastrophe media will demonstrate the evidence of a shift in the kind and quality of the reportage we now have in Australia (where we live and work and use local media) and globally through the internet. The shift in the local reportage on climate is palpable with a new government in Australia and a new climate policy.
