Abstract

Locative media are now widely diffused and increasingly utilized around the world via cellular mobiles (especially smartphones); check-in programs such as Foursquare, promoted outside the United States; geolocative aspects of social media (Twitter and micro blogging, but also Facebook and other social networking programs such as Instagram and Yelp);and increasingly sensors and sensor networks connecting objects that range from smart watches and portable fi tness devices to cars.
