    Abstract

![CDATA[Long loop reflexes are automatic motor responses to somatosensory stimuli that are believed to operate via the cerebral cortex, hence the term transcortical reflexes. By definition, long loop reflexes occur at latencies too long to be mediated by segmental circuits within the spinal cord yet too short to be mediated volitionally.]]
