    Abstract

![CDATA[To assess the impact of acculturation and enculturation on the education of Australian minority students, it is necessary to establish an accurate understanding of the models which predict it. Existing measures of acculturation and enculturation are largely based on culturally specific factors and cannot be applied to a multicultural society. The research will synthesise recent theoretical advances and limitations in acculturation and enculturation measures to better inform future research, educational policies and practices for ethnic minority students. As part of the review process, the key words of acculturation, enculturation, culture, measures and Australia will guide a search through the last three decades of published articles in psychological, educational, and health journals collected from numerous online databases (e.g., Psych Info, ERIC, PubMed). Further to this attention will extend to international research focussing on minority group samples. The existing literature strongly suggests that much more remains to be done to elucidate research-derived consensus in acculturation and enculturation research. Despite this there is strong support for the multidimensional model of acculturation and enculturation.]]
