Abstract
Living with a malignant wound can be an overwhelming experience for the patient and their family, yet the psychosocial effects are often overlooked at assessment. If care is to be holistic, then these issues must be addressed. This is the second in a series of articles summarising the literature on malignant wounds in a holistic format that practitioners can use to inform their practice decisions. This article examines the literature on the key symptoms and their psychosocial effects.
