    Abstract

![CDATA[Defining the academic field that is called "Managerial Psychology" (MP) should on the face of it be a fairly easy task - after all, only two terms are implicated. The pairing of the term managerial with psychology would seem to denote that the field has something to do with applying the insights from the discipline of psychology to the tasks of management - and, indeed, it does! Unfortunately delineating the scope of the field gets a little difficult, if not confusing, by the fact that related terminology is sometimes used inter-changeably with MP while other terms seem to claim some of the same territory (McMahon & Jans, 1990).]]
