Abstract
This chapter reviews the history of the movement from experience-based to evidence-based practice. Additionally, a summary of the current international literature regarding common barriers to using research in practice is presented. The chapter concludes with a review of the research concerning how occupational therapists manage these barriers effectively to allow them to incorporate relevant research findings into their practice over time.
