Abstract

Experimental research was done to investigate the mechanical properties of austenitic stainless steel after exposed to fire. Three types of stainless steel coupons, including flat, curved and corner coupons, were tested after subjected to a designed heating and cooling fire, and the post-fire modulus of elasticity, yield strength, ultimate strength, ultimate strain and stress-strain curves of stainless steel corresponding to various historical maximum temperatures were measured and discussed. Finally, based on the experimental results of flat and curved coupons, a post-fire stainless steel stress-strain model was proposed, and the accuracy of the predicted results is acceptable.
