Abstract

here is no better place to begin a study of Japanese metalwork, or indulge an already established appreciation, than the Kiyomizu Sannenzaka Museum in Kyoto. The museum was established just over 20 years ago to house a collection of over 10,000 of the finest work of 19th century Japanese artisans, the personal collection of the director, Masayuki Murata.
