Abstract

Safe, personalised quality maternal and newborn care is a shared goal among professionals, users, and societies. To continuously accommodate this goal in maternity care a shared evidence-based approach has been developed by more than 35 experts from low- middle- and high income settings. Back in 2014, The Quality Maternal and Newborn Care (QMNC) Research Alliance published the Lancet Midwifery Series pointing towards midwifery care being fundamental in achieving quality maternal and newborn outcomes.
