Abstract
Border irrigation is widely used for irrigating pastures in south-east Australia. Inadequate earthworks, design and operation of irrigation layouts have been major causes of waterlogging and salinity problems in the region. Four models of border irrigation, viz. G. A. Jobling-A. K. Turner, T. Strelkoff, W. W. Walker and D. B. Jaynes, were selected to test and evaluate their performance under Australian conditions. The models have been applied to seven sets of data for two soils and the preliminary results are discussed.
