Abstract
The 'new' space of video drama can be viewed as a technological paradigm shift in the developing field of drama education. This paper analyses the learning experience of a year twelve drama student, as he morphs from his live classroom drama knowledge to a small-screen drama called Blood. Morphing is theorised as the act of transcodification from live drama to the new space of screen drama. The attributes of morphing as an interpretative tool are discussed in the opening scene of the paper. This is complemented by a discussion of the evolving and popular form of screen drama. In this drama space, learning lies with the exciting possibility of new 'morphed' pedagogies.
