Abstract
Photonic spiking VeSEL-neurons are used for high-speed neuromorphic image processing. We demonstrate that a VCSEL-Neuron system using sequential kernel operators successfully reveals all edge-features from 5000 complex images of the MNIST handwritten digit dataset.
