Abstract
Anew midwifery oral health program is underway in NSW to promote maternal dental health. Midwives provide care for the majority of pregnant women in Australia and are in an excellent position to promote dental health. However, unlike other developed countries, the role of midwives in offering dental health advice to pregnant women has not been clearly defined in Australia.
