Abstract

Focusing on innovations to enhance the performance of Recycled Aggregate Concrete (RAC), this chapter details various physical, chemical, and biological treatment techniques for improving RA quality. These include CO₂ curing, thermo-mechanical processes, acid treatments, microbial-induced carbonation, and the use of nano-silica or recycled powder. The impact of these technologies on microstructure, interfacial transition zones (ITZ), and overall mechanical performance is explored. Through analysis of experimental methods and results, the chapter provides a pathway toward producing higher-quality, durable RAC using sustainable enhancement technologies.
