Abstract

A method for exciting and acquiring solvent-signal-controlled nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signals of a sample comprising a plurality of spin systems, the sample comprising one or more substances comprising one or more isotopes of interest prepared with at least one solvent, wherein the spin systems are subjected to a static magnetic field BO and irradiated with a sequence of radio-frequency (rf) pulses and subjected to the application of pulsed magnetic field gradients, the method comprising irradiating the sample with a stimulated echo sequence, applying a selective π-pulse pair, and a train of pulsed magnetic field gradients to the sample, which are adapted to excite NMR signals in the one or more substances of interest whilst simultaneously controlling or suppressing particular usually-undesirable NMR signals originating from the solvent or solvent combinations or other substances; and exciting, acquiring, and recording usually-undesirable solvent-signal-controlled NMR signals of the substances of interest.
