Abstract

Nowhere to hide, directed by Lee Myung-se, is an action film that has been acclaimed for its work on the cutting edge of contemporary genre hybridization and at the forefront of innovative developments with film style. However, the challenges the film makes to contemporary cinema extend beyond questions of style or genre to the very nature of cinema. In its vigorous awakening of the corporeal aspects of cinema spectatorship, Nowhere to hide charts the sensuous and somatic potential in cinema like a relentless mimetic machine.
