Abstract
This paper discusses briefly the issues that confront teachers and students when they use the web to conduct investigations. It offers a solution to most of these through the use of the NSW Global Education site. It concludes by briefly discussing ways for mathematics teachers to guide their students' critical thinking skills when using data.
